“A Little Magic”

Rain on a window pane, tap tapping as it falls

Lightning on night’s canvas illuminating all;

Imbibe an otherworldliness, a glamour and a veil

A conquering of dreams where reality prevails.

Daffodils blooming as spring dances on its way

with them comes the sun-warmed, glorious long day;

which drifts then into twilight with an epilogue of song

of willow warblers bright farewell to the day just gone.

Momentary shadow as cloud blows ‘cross the sun

a reminder of the balance that sometimes is hard won;

yet in it there is magic, as there is in everything

to transform and to illuminate all our days may bring.
